PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for complicated hardware constitution by allocating memory address spaces to a KANJI (Chinese character) ROM pack and a KANJI ROM for comparison. CONSTITUTION:When a KANJI ROM pack 1 is compared with a KANJI ROM 2 for comparison, KANJI data on the pack 1 and the ROM 2 are read to the 1st and 2nd memory parts 9 and 10 of a RAM 8 and stored there by a control circuit. Thus access is given to the pack 1 and the ROM 2 after allocating them to the so-called memory address spaces. Thus it is enough to add just the ROM 2 and a latch circuit 6 in terms of a hardware part. As a result, the hardware constitution is simplified.
