The present invention relates to a knife for surgery of the anterior segment of the eye, in particular of the cornea. This knife 1 includes on the one hand a longitudinal handle 2 having a first transverse end 4 and on the other hand a blade 5 carried by the handle 2 and forming a longitudinal projection from the handle 2, at the said first transverse end of the latter; in order to improve the quality of the incisions and to make them easier to produce, the blade 5 has a shape of revolution around a transverse axis 6 while the handle 2 is hollow and internally comprises means for guiding the blade 5 in rotation around the said transverse axis 6, with respect to the handle 2, as well as a system for kinematic connection between the blade 5 and means 16, 17, 18 for driving the blade 5 in rotation around the said axis 6 which is transverse with respect to the handle 2. <IMAGE>
