PURPOSE:To prevent the adverse influence from being exercised on a building and furniture by means of dew formed to a wall surface and a window in a room due to heating operation, by a method wherein, after heating, an air conditioner is brought into a stop after dehumidifying operation. CONSTITUTION:By turning OFF an operation switch 30 of an air conditioner, a second switch 39 is turned ON by means of a signal from a timer circuit 36 to run a blower 32, and a damper 12 of an opening 11 is released. Thus, a part of air sucked through a suction port 7 flows through an opening 11 to a dehumidifying chamber 10, and after the air is cooled by fins 15, it is exhausted through a supply opening 8 by means of a heat exchanger 4 after it is heat-exchanged with the opening 11. By bringing a part of the heated air in a room into contact with the cooled fins 15, the temperature of the air is decreased. When, after a moisture is removed, the air is exhausted in a room, humidity of air in a room is gradually decreased, and waterdrops remaining in a building can be reduced to a value being low enough to prevent the occurrence of actual damage. Drain water adhered to the fins 15 and dropped down is collected by a drain pan 5, and is drained through a drain hose 41 to the outside of a building.
