PURPOSE:To make automation for storage adjustment of articles during conveyance attainable, by making a transfer adjusting conveyor so as to travel in a direction to be crossed with both carry-in and carry-out conveyors according to their speed differences and to increase or decrease a storage of these articles according to this travel. CONSTITUTION:When trouble happens in a manufacturing machine at the latter stage and a carry-out conveyor 2 is suspended, if a controlling sprocket 24 is stopped, a transfer adjusting conveyor 3 is made to go up as in an arrow D as a whole, whereby a lifting speed becomes halved in an A direction. Next, if the conveyor 3 goes up, a transfer distance in the conveyor 3 ranging from a carry-in conveyor 1 to 2 is increased, storing articles 4, and if a storage in case of reaching a top dead center comes to fullness, the conveyor 1 stops. Reversely, when trouble happens in the manufacturing machine at the preceding stage and the conveyor 1 is stopped, the conveyor 3 goes down and transfers the article 4 onto the conveyor 2 so that storage length on the conveyor 3 becomes shorter, reducing the storage, and when the storage runs short as reached to a bottom dead center, the sprocket 24 is stopped. Therefore, travel adjustment is automatically performable.
