PURPOSE:To ensure a space for protecting the driver upon bumping of a vehicle, in front of a seat, by providing a rigid structure having a specific arrangement onto the front panel and floor panel of the vehicle, and by attaching a seat to the rigid structure. CONSTITUTION:A rigid structure 46 is composed of a front section 48 arranged on the inner surface side of a front panel 14 and vertically extending from the lower part of an upper cross-member 20 to the upper part of a pair of floor panels 12, and a pair of floor sections 50 connected at their front ends to the lower end of the front section 48 and laid on the upper surfaces of the floor panels 12. Further, legs 58 of a seat 52 are fixed to the upper surface of rear part of the floor section 50 while the seat 52 may be moved guided by means of seat racks 60 in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. With this arrangement, the rigid structure 46 may be moved rearward of the vehicle by a force rearward of the vehicle body, which is exerted to the front section 48 from the front panel 14, overcoming a constant resistance force applied by a guide plate 40.
