PURPOSE:To maintain stable photographic characteristics during the preservation with lapse of time by incorporating >=1 layers of emulsion layers contg. silver halide particles consisting of dodecahedral crystals of which the surface is a (110) face and >=1 specific compds. having specific structure. CONSTITUTION:At least >=1 layers of the silver halide emulsion layers contg. the silver halide particles consisting of the dodecahedron crystals of which the surface is the Miller index (110) face and at least >=1 compds. expressed by the formula is incorporated into the photosensitive material. The (100), (111) faces etc. may exist on the surface of the particles and the ratio of the (110) face to the total surface area of the particles is preferably >=20%. The particles having the (110) face are preferably incorporated at >=30wt% in the silver halide emulsion. The compd. expressed by the formula is added in a 0.1-1,000mg range per mol of the silver halide. The photosensitive material contg. a fogging restrainer which has the lower possibility of causing the decrease of the sensitivity and the softening of gradation based on the development restraining is thus obtd.
