<p>PURPOSE:To remove the restriction of paper binding due to the thickness of paper and to improve appearance and the reliability of a device by providing plural staplers for stapling plural collated sheets sent from a recording device in accordance with the thickness to be stapled. CONSTITUTION:Recording sheets 2 discharged to an intermediate tray 14 and successively collated by a belt 15 are stapled at their end parts by a stapler 20 consisting of the 1st and 2nd staplers 20A, 20B after the end of a series of recording and the recording sheets 2 are collated on a binding position. Which stapler 20A or 20B is to be driven is determined in accordance with the thickness of the recording sheets 2 detected by a thickness detecting sensor S5, and at the time of stapling, either one of the staplers 20A, 20B is selected in accordance with the detected thickness and a motor M3 is driven so that the selected stapler is moved to the stapling position.</p> |
