摘要 PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain a melt in which oxide impurities are decreased by displaceably providing an upper electrode integrally provided in an inside nozzle to the inside of an outside nozzle which has an area enough to cover an ingot in a crucible and ejects an inert gas. CONSTITUTION:The lower electrode 26 is internally provided to contact the ingot 24 thrown into the crucible E. On the other hand, the inside nozzle B and the above-mentioned electrode 1 integrally attached to the inside thereof are disposed into the outside nozzle C having the area enough to cover the above-mentioned ingot 24. An arc is generated between the upper and lower electrodes 1 and 26 to melt the ingot 24 while the inert gas supplied via gas supply pipes 4, 14 is ejected from gas ejection holes 9, 13 of the above-mentioned inside and outside nozzles B, C. A spherical projection 2 is integrally attached to the nozzle B in the above-mentioned double gas shielded arc melting method and such projection is attached to a turning mounting part D consisting of a mounting screw 11, spherical retaining part 22, etc. The arc generating direction is thereby made changeable by changing the angle of the electrode 1, by which the high melting point ingot 24 such as Ti is uniformly and efficiently melted.
