PURPOSE:To recover uranium with a high adsorption capacity and high adsorption rate, by bringing an uranium-containing solution into contact with a specific chelating resin. CONSTITUTION:A polymer having amine-reactive groups is reacted with an amino compound having primary or secondary amino group and the resultant product is then reacted with a dithiating agent consisting of CS2 or an alkyldithioic acid having a reactive group capable of reacting with the above- mentioned amino group to afford a chelating resin, which is further reacted with an amino compound capable of imparting a >=4 C spacer group to provide a chelating resin having dithiocarboxyl group or a salt thereof linked to the high polymer backbone chain through the >=4 C spacer group expressed by formula I-IV (p is 2-5; n is 1-5; m is 1-12; l is 2-10). The resultant chelating resin is then filled in a column and an uranium-containing solution at 3-13 pH is passed therethrough at 1-1,000hr<-1> space velocity to adsorb uranium, which is then eluted and recovered with an eluent, e.g. nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, etc. The chelating resin is treated with an aqueous solution, e.g. NaOH, KOH, etc. and regenerated. |
