The invention relates to an impact roller crusher 1 for comminuting material to be crushed, having a crusher roller 3 and a crusher plate 4 which is formed by the bottom plate of a conveyor 5. The conveyor trough 6 has a filling funnel 7 and a cover 8 which forms a passage opening 9 for the fed material to be crushed. The cover 8 has adjustably mounted metering plates 8a, 8b. An automatic actuating drive 10 for altering the width of the passage opening 9 is connected to the metering plates 8a, 8b. By these means, metered charging for emptying the bunker is achieved for the conveyor 5, so that the crusher 1 and the conveyor 5 can be run up with a relatively low load and the desired feed of material to be crushed can then take place. <IMAGE>
