PURPOSE:To eliminate the need to file unreasonably new picture information by providing a blank production means for producing a blank to the stared picture information on a picture memory and storing variation information in the blank. CONSTITUTION:The field picture information is read out of an optical disk 9 with operation of a keyboard 5 and stored temporarily in a picture memory 2. Then the picture information is displayed on a CRT display 4. If a displayed picture contains no blank, the reduction of the picture information is instructed via the keyboard 5. Then a system control circuit 6 transfers dot data stored in the memory 2 to a reduction circuit 13 for reduction of the dot data. This reduced data is stored again in the memory 2. The desired variation information is supplied in the form of character information through a personal computer 11. Then the dot data is transferred to the memory 2 via a code/dot converting circuit 12 and stored in a blank part produced by the reduction. Then the data added with the variation information is hard-copied by a printer 8 via the keyboard 5.
