A box has four side walls (1, 2) made of coated paper, cardboard, corrugated cardboard or plastic and a bottom (9). In order to provide a box which can also be placed on damp ground without impairing its bottom, the bottom (9) consists of a foldable, moisture-resistant, sheet-shaped body which is firmly connected to the side walls (1, 2). Two of the opposite side walls (2) and the bottom (9) can be folded inwards (Figure 2). <IMAGE>
