PURPOSE:To improve the total efficiency of a power generating device and reduce an operation noise, by reducing the heat generated from a generator to the steam flowing in an outside piping and incorporating a power generating device in a piping. CONSTITUTION:A steam turbine casing 11 is connected to a piping 25, and a steam turbine rotor 10 is accommodated in the casing 11. A generator including a rotor 12 and a stator 13 is connected to the low pressure side of the steam turbine. An outside piping 15 arranged around a generator frame 14 surrounding the stator 13 with a given space, and is connected at its one end to the casing 11. The power generating device comprising the steam turbine and the generator is supported through supports 26 to the outside piping 15, and is installed between both the pipings 25 is such a manner as to be incorporated in the outside piping 15. The heat generated in association with the operation of the generator is reduced to the steam flowing along the outer periphery of the generator frame 14 and inside the generator.
