PURPOSE:To provide an adhesive having excellent water resistance and self- emulsifiability, by incorporating ethylene carbonate and propylene carbonate in a particular prepolymer having an isocyanate terminal group. CONSTITUTION:An adhesive combsn. obtd. blending an isocyanateterminated prepolymer which is a reaction product of poly(alkoxyalkylene glycol) having an MW of 250-4,000 with an org. polyisocyanate, with 3wt% or more mixture of ethylene carbonate with propylene carbonate. The MW of the poly(alkoxyalkylene glycol) is 250-4,000. Any of commercially available ethylene carbonate and propylene carbonate having a purity of 95% or more may be used. If the purity is less than 95%, the aq. emulsions prepd. therefrom exhibit poor storage stability.
