PURPOSE:To improve the directivity of a coupler by providing a cut-out part in a dielectric substrate in each o inner conductors arranged close to each other and lessening the effect of wavelength reduction due to substrates in the odd mode to equalize approximately phase speeds of even and odd modes. CONSTITUTION:Dielectric substrates 3 on which the first and second inner conductors 1 and 2 are arranged close to each other are arranged between outer conductors 4 of a suspended line type directional coupler. These substrates 2 are arranged in parallel with outer conductors 4, and strip conductors 1a and 1b and strip conductors 2a and 2b are formed in parts where inner conductors 1 and 2 are close to each other, and a cut-out part 6 is formed across the section where substrates 3 are close to each other. The effect of wavelength reduction due to substrates 3 in the odd mode is lessened to equalize approximately phase speeds of even and odd modes, thus improving the directivity of the coupler.
