PURPOSE:To remarkably miniaturize a forming device for spot electrodes, by providing cutters on the upper and lower surfaces of a cutter attaching member, and by allowing the blades of the cutters to alternately cut a workpiece due to reversible rotation of the cutter. CONSTITUTION:A gear 4 of a cutting cylinder 1 having upper and lower cutters is engaged with a rotary actuator 6 through the intermediary of a gear 5, both gears being attached to a stationary plate 3. The upper and lower cutters are formed thereto with blades which alternately cut a workpiece in association with clockwise and counterclockwise rotations of the cutting cylinder. With the repetition of operation of the actuator 6, the cutting cylinder 1 is reversibly rotated to allow the upper and lower cutters to alternately cut the workpieces. The pressurizing force of an electrode is borne by a center axis 11 so that a force exerted to the blades is only of a resilient force alone. Accordingly, it is possible to miniaturize the device.
