PURPOSE:To improve a reproduction characteristic by installing reproduction signal taking out terminals on both end parts and center of a magneto-resistance effect element, forming a closed magnetic path in a yoke surface and impressing individual bias fluxes with normal and reverse directions on a pair of elements sandwiched by terminals. CONSTITUTION:A groove 12a in parallel with a tip surface 20 is pierced the prescribed distance away from the magnetic head tip surface 20 of a magnetic substrate 12 made of ferrite, etc., and therein a glass material 21 is packed. Then the magneto-resistance effect element 12 composed of two element half bodies 13a and 13b perpendicular to the tip surface 20 is provided so as to be positioned on the glass material 21, and lead wires 17, 16 and 15 are pulled out of halfway, the side of the half body 13a and that of the half body 13b, respectively. Then yoke half bodies 14a and 14b generating a sensor gap part 22 over the element 13 through an insulating layer are installed on the substrate 12, and thereon hard magnetic films 18 and 19 for impressing a bias flux are formed. In such a way normal and reverse bias fluxes are impressed on the half bodies 13a and 13b, whereby a leak flux caused on the gap part 22 is eliminated. |
