A description is given of a device for the axial fixing of structural parts held in bores. The device exhibits a split snap ring (1) which is held in a circumferential annular groove of the bore, whose external circumferential length is greater than the circumferential length of the bore and whose leg ends (6) are offset radially outwardly in the form of a step. In order to make it possible to mount such a snap ring even if its elasticity is only low, owing to its diameter and/or cross-section, the snap ring is to exhibit eyes (7) which are arranged on its free legs at a distance from the end edges (6) and have in each case one through-opening (8) for the engagement of a mounting tool (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
