PURPOSE:To improve the fold and tear resistances of a base for electrostatic recording paper by incorporating a fibrous substance of a specified length into the surface layer of the base. CONSTITUTION:A fibrous substance of <=20mm length is incorporated into the surface layer of a base for electrostatic recording paper. Fibers of glass, polyvinyl alcohol, polyester, polyamide or the like are used as the fibrous substance. The fibers are mixed with polyisocyanate resin or the like and the mixture is impregnated into fine paper to obtain a base for electrostatic recording paper. A recording layer consisting of acrylic resin and a pigment is formed on the base. The resulting electrostatic recording paper for facsimile or the like gives a clear image. Since the fibrous substance is used, the tear resistance of the base for electrostatic recording paper can be improved and the durability can be enhanced. |
