<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing an R-T-B system sintered magnet having further high magnetic characteristics by a mixing method. <P>SOLUTION: In the production method of the R-T-B system sintered magnet including an R<SB>2</SB>T<SB>14</SB>B compound (R is one or two or more kinds selected from rare earth elements and Y, T is Fe or Fe and Co) as a main phase and including grain boundary phases between the R<SB>2</SB>T<SB>14</SB>B compounds, the R-T-B system sintered magnet includes 25 to 32.5wt.% R and a process of producing a molding including alloy powder for the main phase and alloy powder for the grain boundary phases and a process of sintering the molding are included. The alloy powder for the grain boundary phases contains 25 to 42wt.% heavy rare earth elements. The crystal grains of the R-T-B system sintered magnet are made finer by the invention and coercive force (HcJ) can be made better with substantially no degradation in residual magnetic flux density (Br). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
