PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating composition showing excellent chemical resistance such as weather, acid, alkali and solvent resistances and the like by making the composition contain barium sulfate and a polyurethane resin. SOLUTION: Barium sulfate is preferably precipitating barium sulfate and its content is preferably 3 to 10 wt.%. A surface gloss value after hardening is preferably not less than 70%. A polyurethane resin is a modified polyisocyanate which is preferably a polyetherpolyol-modified polyisocyanate and/or a polyesterpolyol-modified polyisocyanate. The weight ratio of the polyetherpolyol-modified polyisocyanate to the polyesterpolyol-modified polyisocyanate is preferably 80/20 to 30/70. The polyesterpolyol is preferably a polycaprolactonepolyol and the polyetherpolyol is preferably a polytetramethylene glycolpolyol.
