PURPOSE:To enhance image forming property and scratch resistance, by providing a protective layer consisting of a thermoplastic polymer and heat absorbable pigment to the surface of the recording layer on a transparent support. CONSTITUTION:In a laser recording film wherein a recording layer 2 containing a non-self-oxidative binder, fine particles absorbing heat imparting high blackening density and a heat ray absorbent having intensive absorbing capacity in the wavelength region of laser beam used in recording is provided on a transparent substrate 1, a protective layer 3 consisting of a thermoplastic polymer and heat absorbable pigment is provided on the recording layer 2. As the pigment absorbing heat in the protective layer, there are graphite and carbon black etc. As the thermoplastic polymer contained in the protective layer, various polymers having mechanical strength can be used and, especially, solvent soluble type polyester, a vinyl resin and a solvent soluble type polyamide resin are suitable. The addition of the heat absorbable pigment to the protective layer especially exerts large effect to transfer of the recording medium layer containing the protective layer of the laser recording film and has marked effect enhancing resolving power. |
