METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DEVELOPING

PURPOSE:To obtain a copied image having good quality without fogging by impressing an AC electric field between a photosensitive drum which supports an electrostatic image and sleeve roller which supports a two-component developer. CONSTITUTION:An electrode 3 is disposed in a hopper 1 and the sleeve roller 6 which supports the two-component developer consisting of a carrier and toner is used as a counter electrode. A resistor 7 is provided as a passive element and an AC bias power source 4 for preventing the fogging to be impressed between the sleeve 6 and the photosensitive drum 8 which is an electrostatic image support is prepd. to impress the AC electric field between the electrodes 3 and 6. Magnetic poles are provided near the part right under a blade 9 and the inside of a stationary magnet roller 6a in the sleeve 6, then the earing of the developer is generated by the rotation of the sleeve 6 and the developer layer is coated and supported on the peripheral surface of the sleeve 6 by the rotation of the sleeve 6, by which the electrostatic image on the photosensitive body 8 existing in the position having no contact with the developer layer is developed to the sensible image.
