PURPOSE:To attain quick reading of a desired recording data by forming a means carrying a base on which a recording medium is loaded in a direction in parallel with the track and also an optical pickup feeding mechanism moving the optical pickup in a direction crossing the track and accessing an optional track at random. CONSTITUTION:The optical pickup 24 is moved in a direction orthogonal to the track, while a card loading base 29 fitted with a laser card 32 or the laser card 32 itself is carried in the track direction. Thus, in reading a desired data, the track address recorded with the data is accessed at random to complete the data read required in a far shorter time than a conventional example.
