PURPOSE:To prevent close adhesiveness inferiority, moisture transmission, decompositional sublimation and crack generation, etc. and to protect quartz of a capillary, by coating a column with a metal and setting the thickness of the coating layer to a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:A metal coating layer 2 is applied to the outer periphery of a capillary tube 1 comprising quartz (glass and fused silica are usable). In this manufacturing process, the molten metal applied to the outer periphery of the tube 2 takes heat from the tube 2 to be lowered in its temp. and, when said temp. entered a region with the m.p. or less of the metal, the metal is precipitated and solidified to form the layer 2. In the depth of the actual injury 3 generated during the use of the capillary tube, the injury 13 is mostly distributed to a part having a depth of 5-40mum and, especially, it is tested that the injury 13 is mostly present at a depth of 20-40mum and, corresponding to the test result, the thickness of the layer 2 is set to 50mum or more. |
