PURPOSE:To improve the value of elongation and to provide impact resistance by dispersing in a ferritic matrix spheroidal graphite enclosed by a hard phase. CONSTITUTION:The spheroidal graphite cast iron perfectly ferritized by ferritizing annealing is reheated to undergo austenitizing, while subjected to air cooling in the middle of the austenitizing. In this way, the spheroidal graphite cast iron having an inverse bull's eye structure where the spheroidal graphite enclosed by hard phase is dispersed in the ferritic matrix is formed. This spheroidal graphite cast iron can be suitably used as various machine structural members.
