A two speed accessory drive (10) primarily for rotating engine driven accessories at either of two selectible speeds. The drive (10) includes a drum (14) rotatable with an input shaft (10). Positioned within the drum (14) are a plurality of self-activating brake shoes (180) that are moved into and out of engagement with the drum (14) by a corresponding set of levers (152). The motion of the levers is controlled by the relative rotation between a plurality of disks (92,100) positioned remote from the drum.
