PURPOSE:To solve the problems such as the decrease of a display function arising from the cell formation of an electrochromic element by drawing out respectively lower display electrodes and upper counter electrode to the rear side of a base body. CONSTITUTION:The lead-out electrode 4' of the upper counter electrode 4 and the lead-out part 2' of the lower display electrode 2 are respectively connected and led out through through-holes 11, 11' bored to the base body 1 to the lead- out electrodes 12, 13 provided on the rear sides of the base body 1. The rear side of the base body has only the lead-out electrodes and therefore the easy contact therewof with an outside driving source is made possible. Since the contact of the display part with the outside is made possible without using an inter-connector, etc., there is not feeling that the display is recessed. The beautiful display is thus made possible.
