NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by the formula (n is 1 or 2). EXAMPLE:Ethyl beta-sulfo-gamma-trimethylammoniobutyrate. USE:A remedy for cardiopathy and intermediate raw material for medicines. PREPARATION:Sodium acid sulfite is added to crotonobetaine and reacted therewith at 20-100 deg.C, prererably 40-70 deg.C and 3-10pH for 6-12hr, and the resultant product is then treated with a cation exchange resin, e.g. Amberlite IR-120. A lower alcohol, e.g. methanol, is added to esterify the treated product, preferably in the presence of an acid catalyst, e.g. sulfuric acid, to give the aimed compound expressed by the formula. |
