PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity, dye stain resistance after development processing, and storage stability by incorporating a sensitizing dye having an essential a 5-membered hetero ring contg. an N=C-Te ring constituent and a specified group combined with said N in a silver halide emulsion layer formed on a support. CONSTITUTION:At least one silver halide emulsion layer formed on the support contains the sensitizing dye having an essential 5-membered hetero ring contg. an N=C-Te ring constituent and a specified group combine with said N represented by formula I in which j is an integer of 1-18, k is an integer of 1-4, and M is H, alkali metal, organic ammonium, or a simple electron. Said dye is contained in said layer in an amt. of 1X10<-5>-5X10<-3> mol, preferably, 1X10<-5>-2.5X10<-3> mol, especially, 4X10<-4>-1X10<-3> mol per mol of silver halide. |
