A measuring device for video heads which consists of a rotatable receptacle for the head disc and a dial gauge, which can be placed against the head disc in the area of the heads, in which the video heads can be sensed, is to be constructed in such a manner that it can be used for as many different head discs and video heads as possible whilst at the same time completely excluding the possibility of damaging the heads. For this purpose, it is provided according to the invention that the receptacle for the head disc is a support which is mounted rotatably about a shaft and which is of annular construction on its side facing the head disc and is there provided with recesses, arranged at a distance from one another, for the penetration of the video heads and for the penetration of centring pins, that at least one centring cone is provided which exhibits a continuous coaxial hole fitting on the shaft and engages in the receiving opening of the head disc from above, and that a plastics strip, covering the heads, is arranged between the sensor surface of the dial gauge facing the support and the support.
