PURPOSE:To develop an ornamental platinum alloy excelled in mechanical strength and workability by using Pt as principal component and alloying specific amounts of Ga and Fe. CONSTITUTION:As material for ornaments such as rings, necklaces, tiepins, watch frames, etc., the platinum alloy consisting of, by weight, 84-96% Pt, 2-10% Ga and 0.5-10% Fe is used. The above is an alloy excelled in workability and mechanical strength, characterized by minimized occurrence of blowholes in casting and suitable for ornamental parts.
