PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a high voltage transformer and to simplify a dielectric strength structure, and to perform a high-quality welding connection of optical fibers, by holding a current value enough for arc starting until arc discharge starts completely and controlling an arc current to a value suitable for the optical fiber welding connection through a current control circuit afte stable arc dischrge is obtained, and thus suppressing a no-load output voltage low. CONSTITUTION:For high-pressure output, an AC voltage from a commercial power source 1 is rectified by a rectifier 2 to obtain a DC voltage, which is passed through a relay 3 to output a high frequency output by a high-frequency oscillator 4; and a high-voltage transformer 5 generates a 4,000-6,000V high voltage, which is passed through a stable resistance R to generate an arc used for the welding connection of optical fibers. The arc current is detected by a detector 6 and a current control circuit 8 obtains the difference between the arc current and a current value suitable for the welding connection of the optical fibers and feeds it back to the high-frequency oscillator 4 to control the arc current to the current value suitable for the welding connection of the optical fibers. |
