<p>PURPOSE:To record/reproduce a signal to/from the both faces of a magnetic tape possible for both sides recording in using the said magnetic tape by moving a rotary head cylinder provided with a tape guide post and a magnetic recording and reproducing head in a direction orthogonal with the longitudinal direction of the magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:The rotary head cylinder 16 is moved between the non-operating position and the operating position in the direction orthogonal with the longitudinal direction of the tape 2. In recording/reproducing a signal to/from the side A of the tape, the tape guide posts 8-15 are moved from the 1st position before the tape is ejected to the 2nd position where the side A is in contact with the cylinder 16 at the operating position. In recording/reproducing a signal to/from the side B of the tape, the posts 8-15 are moved to the 2nd position to form a tape loop and the cylinder 16 is moved from the non-operating position to the operating position within the loop. Thus, the signal is recorded/reproduced to/from both sides.</p> |
