This "pin-type" clamping collar comprises a clamping strip 1 intended to surround a pipe or the like and connected by one end to a part of the collar, whilst its other end comes into engagement with a pin 3 or a spindle mounted rotationally on or in this part. The said part is formed by a clevis 2 provided with a base 4 and wings 5 in which the pin 3 can swivel. The base has a window 6 made by cutting out, in which there extends a tab 7 forming a brake directed obliquely towards the pin 3 and bearing on it or on the strip already wound up on it via its free end, the strip 1B passing under this tab. The tab has a width less than that of the strip in order to cause deformation of its transverse profile during clamping, while increasing the locking effect. The pin 3 is sufficiently far away from the periphery of the pipe to avoid any hindrance for the screw socket. <IMAGE>
