Improvements to the unwinding of films for sowers (seeders) under mulching. In such a sower (seeder) with a compacting roll 1, film carrier 2, unroller/applicator 3, film cutter, furrow opener and stamping-down wheel, the unroller/applicator roll 3 has a length substantially equal to that of the compacting roll 1, on each side of the chassis 7, a stamping-down wheel with tyre 5 of a diameter greater than that of the unrolling roll 3 is mounted at the end of an arm 6 which is, moreover, fastened to the chassis so that the axis of the wheel is slightly off-centre with respect to the axis of the roll and parallel to "the latter"; the chassis 7 carries, elastic-pressure mounted 9-11-12, a roller 10 rotating about an axis parallel to that of the roll and which can pinch the film 4 between the rolling paths of the roller 10 and of the tyre 5. <IMAGE>
