<p>PURPOSE:To measure properly the temperature distribution of a material to be melted by providing a brightness detector with an optical filter transmitting an emitting luminance component and using the detecting signal of the emitting luminance component. CONSTITUTION:An infrared ray transmitting filter 21, which removes arc light and passes the emitting brightness, is installed on an image pickup device 20, and the temperature distribution is obtained from the video signal of the emitting brightness from the image pickup device 20. Thus the temperature distribution of a molten metal, especially the molten metal just before falling down in the tips of electrodes 11 and 12 can be precisely measured during arc melting without being influenced by the arc light. Since the image pickup device 20 has a visual field (f) in terms of measurement of the temperature distribution, it can be properly measured without fail even if the electrodes 11 and 12 have temperature inclinations or they move.</p> |
