PURPOSE:To simplify wiring and to transmit main display elements to a user by providing a character display device in an operation panel and using it to display three main display elements of copy magnification, a message, and the quantity of copies. CONSTITUTION:A display part 456 for displaying three transmission elements indicating copy condition, the state of a copying machine, and an operation indication to a user is arranged on the operation panel. A microcomputer 610 for display control interchanges data with a microcomputer 611 for main body control and the computer 610 selects drivers 612... on the basis of the display data to display characters on a display tube 46. Left four digits (615) are used to display copy magnification, center 31 digits (614) are used to make a message display, and right 3 digits (615) are used to display the quantity of copies, thus displaying three main display elements on one display tube. Consequently, the wiring is simplified and the user knows the main display elements at a glance. |
