PURPOSE:To prevent a mold from being applied by excessive force and at the same time suppress the generation of defective product by a method wherein the distance between the mating surfaces of a stationary mold and a movable mold during injection molding is detected. CONSTITUTION:A sensor 10 to detect the distance between the mating surfaces of a stationary mold and a movable mold is buried in the stationary mold 2 fixed onto a stationary mold mounting plate 1. At the molding operation, a movable plate 3 fixed onto a movable mold mounting plate 5 tightly contacts with the stationary mold 2 and molten resin is supplied through a sprue 9 under the state that the detecting head 11 of a sensor 10 is pushed in the stationary mold 2. After that, when a gap is developed between the mating surfaces due to the pressure of the molten resin, the distance D of the gap is detected by the protrusion of the detecting head 11. The size of the distance is displayed on a numerical display panel 12. If the displayed size exceeds the allowable value, the molding operation is stopped and the adjustments of injection pressure, amount of injection and the like are made. |
