PURPOSE:To reduce the number of keys and to carry out an effective retrieval by assigning longitudinal and a lateral addresses to the respective keys, and discriminating the longitudinal section and a lateral section by an operating sequence of the key. CONSTITUTION:On a keyboard 20, keys 21-28 for designating addresses of the number corresponding to other longitudinal or lateral addresses more in number are provided and to the respective keys 21-28, the longitudinal addresses A-F and the lateral addresses 1-8 are assigned with multi-functions. On the first operation of the key, the lateral addresses A-F are designated, and on the second operation of the key, the longitudinal addresses 1-8 are designated.
