PURPOSE:To improve a coefficient of performance so sharply over the whole range of a variable frequency zone, by installing a regulating valve mechanism which regulates a area of a discharge port in response to a variation in frequency, in case of an operation frequency variable type compressor having an inverter circuit. CONSTITUTION:A rotor 13 is attached to a driving shaft 12 rotating inside a casing 11, while this rotor is housed inside a compression space 16a to be formed by a main bearing 14, a sub-bearing 15 and a cylinder 16 of the driving shaft 12. In addition, vertical two spots of discharge holes 17 and 18 are formed in each of bearings 14 and 15 and the cylinder 16 as being interconnected to the compression space 17, and these holes are covered with muffler covers 19 and 20 each. And, in one discharge port 18, there is provided with a regulating valve mechanism 21 which opens or closes its large diametral part 18a. This mechanism 21 is constituted of a support pin 22 inserted into the lower muffler cover 20, a solenoid coil 23 for lifting this pin and a valve body 24 installed in an upper end of the support pin 22. |
