PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a customer to have high-level knowledge and to reduce complicated operation by setting independently an I/O address of an option package which can be recognized by a program and an I/O address which can be recognized by the option package. CONSTITUTION:When the customer mounts the option package 9, a unique value is set as compared with other option packages, but may be a value irrelevant to the I/O address which is recognized by the program. The program reads out information on a switch 98 for I/O address setting prior to the use of the function of the package 9 and data obtained therefrom is set in a data register 2; and an I/O address with which the program recognizes the program of the package 9 is set in a monitor address register 1. Consequently, the address which is recognized by the program automatically is converted into an address that the package recognizes in subsequent I/O access.
