MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain the title magnetic recording medium without sucking dust and contaminants and provided with a protective film having excellent adhesiveness, lubricating property and abrasion resistance by providing a paint layer having specified thickness and contg. 3 kinds of specified materials on the surface of an alloy thin film magnetic layers as a surface lubricating and protective film. CONSTITUTION:A layer contg. 3 kinds of materials consisting of a paint obtained by mixing and combining water-contg. silica colloid and a metallic oxide or a paint obtained by mixing and combining a mixed body of water-contg. silica colloid and a metallic oxide with one or both of a metallic alcoholate and metallic soap, a diol or a triol and a diiosocyanate or a polyisocyanate for urethane is provided in <=0.1mum thickness on the surface of a magnetic layer as the surface lubricatiang and protective film. The thickness of the surface lubricating and protective film is regulated to about 500-600Angstrom and the difference in the electromagnetic transducing characteristic from the conventional example is not recognized. Consequently, the friction coefficient is extremely lowered, the traveling property between head and the medium is stabilized and the durability is improved because the film is formed with a highly abrasion- resistant material.
