PURPOSE:To obtain a binder resin excellent in fixability, offset resistance, etc., and suitable for the production of toners, by cocondensing a specified aromatic diol component with di- and tri-carboxylic acid components and a reactive liquid polybutadiene. CONSTITUTION:The purpose binder resin is obtained by cocondensing a diol component (A) of the formula (wherein R is ethylene or propylene and x+y has an average of 2-7) [e.g., polyoxypropylene(2.2)-2,2-bis(4-hydroxylphenyl)- propane] with an acid component (B) comprising a dicarboxylic acid (anhydride) (lower alkyl ester), e.g., n-octyl succinate, and 0-40mol% trimellitic acid- containing tricarboxylic acid (anhydride) (lower alkyl ester) and 0.005-20mol% reactive liquid polybutadiene (C) having at least 1.5 polycondensible functional groups on the average and a MW of 1,000-10,000.
