PURPOSE:To improve the use sense of a user by comparing a moving extent of a mouse, and switching automatically a movement coefficient of a cursor without operating a switch. CONSTITUTION:A timer 3 applies an interruption to a processor 5 at every prescribed time. The processor 5 receives it, writes it in DELTAX12 and DELTAY13, and sends those values to a comparing circuit 4. The circuit 4 compares these values with a value of a THV2. If both DELTAX12 and DELTAY13 are smaller than the THV2, the processor 5 writes that which removed DELTAX12 and DELTAY13 by an SA14, in a DX10 and a DY11. Namely, DX=DELTAX/SA, and DY=DELTAY/SA. If one of them is larger than or equal to the THV2, DX=DELTAX/SB, and DY=DELTAY/SB. Next, the DX10 and the DY11 are added to a CX8 and a CY9, so that CX=CX+DX, and CY=CY+DY. In this state, a command is given to a display device 6 so that a cursor is displayed on a CRT7 in accordance with a value of the CX8 and CY9.
