PURPOSE:To enable a tool to provide cutting performance equal to that of an integrally formed tool further a tool holder to easily mount and remove a tool head automatically, by fitting an engaging part of the tool holder to a tapered hole in a clamping unit and simultaneously fixing the engaging part removably by an engaging pawl. CONSTITUTION:When a tool head 1 mounting a tip 3 is mounted to a clamping unit 2, a holding device, if a moving member 19 is retracted in a direction 22b against a compression spring 23 by an air cylinder 37, causes a stopper piece 11 to turn a stopper pawl 27 in a direction 28b against a torsion spring 29. Further the device, engaging a protrusion piece 31 with an engaging recessed part 9 by advancing the head 1 and moving the stopper pawl 27 to be reset in a direction 28a, fits a positioning protrusion 10 to a positioning groove 36. Next the device, if attraction of the air cylinder 37 is stopped, advances the moving member 19 to the original position by the compression spring 23, inserting an end part of the moving member 19 into a fitting recessed part 34. And the device, placing the stopper pawl 27 unable to turn, mounts the head 1 to be tightened to the clamping unit 2. While the device, when the head 1 is removed, retracts the moving member 19 in the direction 22b turnably placing the stopper pawl 27 to be extracted in a direction 22a. |
