PURPOSE:To maintain the specified quantity of heat accumulated in the refractories of the inside wall of a tundish and to prevent the inefficient consumption of energy in the preheating stage of the tundish by calculating successively the secondary differential value of the time of the temp. detected with a detector embedded into the refractories of the inside wall and controlling the quantity of heating according to the calculated value. CONSTITUTION:The temp. in the refractories 10 is continuously detected by the temp. detector 11 embedded therein during the preheating period by combustion of a burner 13. The detected value is successively secondary differentiated with the time by an arithmetic unit 12, by which the temp. acceleration is determined. The quantity of heat input per unit time to obtain the quantity of the heat storage required within the target time is determined in accordance with the temp. acceleration and a gaseous fuel flow rate and air flow device 14 is controlled by the signal for the set heat quantity, by which the target quantity of the storage is automatically obtd. within the target preheating time. |
