PURPOSE:To detect not only a gate remaining, but a cobwebbing fault securely by generating an upward air flow around the injection gate part of an injection molding, and performing optical detection while a defect part is raised. CONSTITUTION:Injection moldings 1 which are conveyed successively on a conveyor belt 2 are locked at a specific position by a position control tool 3 and the upward air flow is generated around the injection gate part 8 of the injection moldings 1. For the purpose, a suction port 5 is arranged opposite, for example, the gate part 8 and suction is performed by a suction pump 7 through a pipe 6 to generate the air flow. Then while the defect part 10 at the periphery of the gate part is raised, this defect part (filamentous resin) 10 is detected optically through the optical fiber 13 of a photodetector 12 installed beside.
