PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a charger and improve its charging current characteristic by making the output terminal mounted on the adaptor part for power source a two-terminal and providing a resistor for adjusting the charging current in every cell holder of various kinds. CONSTITUTION:This charger is composed of an adaptor part 1 including a step-down transformer 9 connected to a commercial alternating current power source, and cell holders 13, 28, 41 where cells to be charged are mounted. Rectifiers 24, 25, 39, 45 and resistors 26, 27, 40, 46 for charging current limiting are provided in the cell holders. The structure of the adaptor part has only a step-down transformer and does not need any diodes for rectification, any resistors for current adjustment and so on, and therefore is extremely simple. Furthermore, the resistor adjustment at the cell holder side can give an optimum charging current to each cell and can improve its characteristic. |
