PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material suitable for X ray photography by incorporating to a silver halide particles contd. in an emulsion layer, a specific amount of AgI having a specific distribution, and by incorporating to an another emulsion layer, a polymer contg. at least one of three specific phenolic compds. and a pyrolidone. CONSTITUTION:One of the silver halide particles contd. in the emulsion layers and contg. 0.5-10mol% AgI comprises the polymer composed of at least one of compds. shown by formula I, II, and III wherein R1 and R2 are each a hydrogen atom, an (substd.) alkyl, an alkenyl, an aryl, or a cycloalkyl group, R3, R4, R5 and R6 are each a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, OH, an (subtd.) alkyl, an alkenyl, a cycloalkyl, an aryl,k an alkoxy, an acyl, an alkylthio, an aryloxy, an arylthio, an acylamino, an alkylamino, an alkoxycarbonyl or a sulfoneamido group and the pyrolidone in a repeating unit of the polymer. Another one of the emulsion layer contd. in the prescribed particles comprises >=20mol% AgI. The obtd. titled material has a high sensitivity and a less tendency for generating a fog and a long storage life and a good pressure tightness. |
